Photograph caption dated October 23, 1963 reads, "Baby LeRoy Shawn Hughbanks surveys a typical layette given Navy families as one of the services supported by the Navy Relief Ball to be held Friday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Looking on from left are Mrs. Willard J. Larsen, chairman of the ball's women's committee; Frank Gard Jameson, general chairman, and Commander Laura J. Walter, USNR, executive secretary of the Navy Relief Program. An estimated 160 couples from the Valley will attend the event, which will honor Admiral David L. McDonald, U. S. Navy Chief of Naval Operations."
