Photograph caption dated March 11, 1929 reads, "Miss Wills holds a Los Angeles phone directory of 1903, one-sixteenth as large as that of the new books, the first issued under a contract signed by the Southern California Telephone Co. for publication of 16,000 directories in five years. In the 1903 directory the telephone district prefixes "Peter" and "Joseph" were discontinued."
