Photograph caption dated October 18, 1962 reads "Dr. R. Wendell Coffelt, Burbank, left, and Dr. Jack Bills, Van Nuys, right, co-chairman of the Los Angeles County Medical Association's Valley project to inoculate some 900,000 Valley residents with Sabin oral polio vaccine Sunday and Oct. 28, show Dr. John McGirr how easy it is to be inoculated. McGirr is president of the Valley district, county medical association. There is no painful injection, just a pleasant taste of sugar."
