Photograph caption dated March 29, 1988 reads, "Adding his voice to the din outside South African Consulate in Beverly Hills is Roy Fonder, one of 300 people protesting apartheid. The Los Angeles Student Coalition marched from Pan Pacific Park two miles to the offices on La Cienega Boulevard for a 90-minute rally. They had hoped to close the consulate, but it remained open throughout the protest."
