Photograph caption dated December 24, 1956 reads "Peter Paulson, 4, and his big brother, David, 9, look for good last-minute Christmas buy in candy store window. Those two-for-a-nickel candy canes look like best bargain to Peter. Youngsters were among scores of last-minute shoppers who jammed Valley shops today to find presents."
