Missionsskole eksamen, DMS 1945. Senere Kursus for Ledende Sygeplejersker, Aarhus Universitet, 1965. Udsendt af DMS via USA til Peking/Beijing, Kina 1947-48. Måtte forlade Kina i 1949, og blev sendt til Arogyavaram TB Sanatorium i Sydindien. Her virkede hun som sygeplejerske og senere forstanderinde, 1949-70. Herefter fortsatte Rigmor Madsen sin missionærtjeneste i Tanzania, hvor hun fra 1970-75 blev forstanderinde for det nye Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre/KCMC i Moshi. Det sidste arbejdssted blev Ndolage Sygeplejeskole, Kagera, som sygeplejelærer, 1975-81, og forstanderinde, 1981-84. Rigmor Madsen blev pensioneret i 1984 og bosatte sig i Aarhus, hvor hun døde i 2007

Had to leave China in 1949, and was sent to the Union Mission Tuberculosis Sanatorium, Arogyavaram , South India, as nurse and later headmistress/matron, 1949-70. Rigmor Madsen continued her missionary service in Tanzania, from 1970-75 as head of the new Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre/KCMC at Moshi. Her last working place became Ndolage Nurses and Midwives Training School, Kagera – as nursing teacher, 1975-81 and principal, 1981-84. In 1984 Rigmor Madsen returned to Denmark for retirement and settled in Aarhus, where she died in 2007.
