Description
A woman poses in a walking dress from July 1826. She wears a wide brimmed, straw hat with navy blue ribbon detailing. A bow sticks off of the brim on one side. A long loop of ribbon hangs down from either side of her hat almost to her waist. Her dress has a high, ruffled, white collar. At the center front of the collar is a blood red brooch. Her dress is bright yellow with ruffles lining the shoulders. Her sleeves are leg-of-mutton style with two orange ribbons around the forearm. She wears a pair of light blue gloves and holds a pink parasol with white trim and a carved, wooden handle in her hands. Down the center of her skirt are many sideways "S" shaped designs, lined up waist to hem to create a band. The hem has a puffed or padded edge. She wears a pair of red shoes.
