Description
Photograph caption dated May 10, 1956 reads "Clyde Wallace, past president of Palmdale Chamber of Commerce, points out portion of 17,000 acres of agricultural land surrounding Palmdale Airport for which chamber is proposing new M-5 'heavy airport industrial' zoning. Area surrounded by white rim is airport. White rim is Air Force-owned buffer zone. Shaded area outside rim is land proposed for rezoning. It's now zoned A2-5, heavy agricultural, with a maximum of one home per five acres."
