Description
In 1906 Lewis E. Hanchett, a San Jose native, purchased the Agricultural Park at The Alameda and Race Street, where he developed Hanchett Park. Residents purchased lots in Hanchett Park and built houses to meet the guidelines provided by Hanchett. The neighborhood featured streets, curbs, sidewalks, and a septic system. This may be Martin Street.
