Black and white lantern slide showing a group of male and female missionaries in a group portrait. All wear smart attire. Some men wear white jackets. Although they may be doctors, these do not appear to be medical white coats. The slide shows the caption, "H.F.Y", which may refer to the slide's owner or photographer, and is probably Henry F Young, who sailed for the Congo in 1913 and was based at Bongandanga. The group appears to have been gathered together at a field conference of the Congo Balolo Mission. This slide comes from a collection generated by missionaries working for the Congo Balolo Mission, a mission begun in 1889 under the supervision of the East London Training Institute for Home and Foreign Missions that developed into the interdenominational evangelical mission, Regions Beyond Missionary Union after 1900.
