Redwood characteristics. The famous Lilly Tree on the redwood highway, 56 miles north of Willitts. The very hollow butt of the tree is shown in photo #4081. The top shows a scraggly, decadent characteristic. The diameter of the tree about 8 feet from the ground is 18 feet, and the height is 220 feet. March 1929, E.F
