Photograph of a view of the Oakland camp of the Seventh Regiment of California troops during the Spanish-American War, August 1899. A long swath of tents is visible striping a hill in the background, arranged into three rows. In the foreground, several buildings can be seen advertising commercial ventures, while to the left a long stretch of paved road slants in from the foreground. One of the signs on the buildings reads "Hamman Baths [...]". The troops of the regiment were presumably from Los Angeles. Picture file card reads "Spanish War Volunteers".
