Description: At the National Charity League and Ticktockers benefit luncheon on January 27, 1951, Saks Fifth Ave. and Cole of California were awarded "The Thing" for their leadership in fashion. Pictured are: Barbara Freking in the winning Cole fashion called "King Solomon's Mines;" Fred Cole, president of Cole of California; Lilith Roberts in the winning Saks fashion by Sophie called "A Double Life," and Jack Mathess, General Manager of Saks.
