Description: Exterior view of the Antelope Valley Hospital, located at 1600 West Avenue J in Lancaster. Dedicated in 1955 as a hospital with only 86 beds, the building contained 149 beds and included an Extended Care Unit at the time this photograph was taken in May 1969. Until 1977, Lancaster was an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County.
