Tinted lantern slide showing part of a Hindu temple which is collapsed, and falls onto a ghat (a set of steps leading to holy water). The temple is in the city of Benares (now known as Varanasi, in Uttar Pradesh), the most sacred city in India. This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
