Description
Photograph of refugees standing in a bread line in front of a Roman Catholic Church on Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, 1906. A scuffed up road lies in the foreground with an intersecting road extending uphill into the left distance. The line of finely-dressed people reaches along the street all the way down the hill and out of site towards the right foreground. The line reaches in front of the tall, wide steps of the large church at center. The church has large, arched entrances and stained-glass windows.
