Description
Agenda for the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians public hearings held at the Golden Gate University Auditorium in San Francisco, California from 12:00 Noon to 9:00 P.M on August 12, 1981. The agenda has handwritten notes relating to which testimonies were recorded and who was absent.
The testimonies were taped by Christine Asoo Umeda on a Sony Walkman recorder. Most of the witnesses were from Sacramento, California. Ms. Umeda was four years old when her family was incarcerated at Tule Lake and later transferred to Topaz, Utah. By the time of the hearings, Christine and Mary Tsukamoto were already involved in town hall meetings to advocate, educate, and help people prepare for the hearings.
