Born in Massachusetts, Fr. Lynch came to Maryknoll in 1928 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1938. He was assigned to the Wuchow mission in China. He spent six years in Wuchow and in 1945 he was awarded the Emblem for Meritorious Civilian Service for his work as a Contract Chaplain in China.
