Swanton House Hotel The Swanton House was a hotel on Front Street, built in 1883. The hotel was on the upper two floors the Bonner Stable was on the ground floor. Both the hotel and the stables were operated by Fred Swanton and his father. A.P. Swanton. At the time, it was the tallest building in the city of Santa Cruz. To the right of the hotel is the Goodwin & Martin livery stable. In 1887, the hotel was destroyed by fire. The lot remained vacant until the construction of Post Office in 1911.
