Description: AASCU's Japan Studies Institute in 1989 was held in San Diego from June 21 to July 14, under the direction of Alvin P. Coox and featuring lectures by specialists in a range of subjects within Japanese studies. At the time of this panel, Richard Davis was representative of a Japanese advertising agency and Robert Ayres was Vice President of Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank of California. Mr. Kumiro, from Sumitomo Bank, was an observer on the panel.
