Description
This rare second edition of Bestall's advice to the proprietors of all types of food and alcohol establishments remains a sparkling piece of Yankee ingenuity. The second edition contains a 91 page treatise on distillation as an appendix. Bestall claims to have written the "so as not to be at the mercy of foreign powers," a high minded explanation for a book that is really a series of methods and recipes for faking every kind of wine and spirit known at the time.
