View of the Chaparral House with 7 people outside of it. The man on the front porch holding baby is Jerry Ford, Sr. The baby is Mae Ford (now of Durham) now Mae Coon. The largest of the two boys standing near front of building is Roy Ford, age 8. The smaller boy is Jerry Ford (brother of Roy). Lady standing to right of main door is Mrs. Ford (mother of Roy). Above information given by Roy Ford, who was down near Paradise in 1890. Mr. Ford went to Chaparral as a baby and stayed until he was 7. Roy told that his brother Jerry died as a young boy from a hunting accident near Pentz. Roy Ford died April 6, 1969-obituary in Chico Enterprise Record April 7, 1969. Informant: Ronald Chappell, received by Ruby Swartzlow, August 7, 1972. Additional information: October 7, 1975. Information from Larry V. Richardson. Jerry Ford and Allen Coon were partners in Chaparral. Jerry Ford Sr. died Nov. 5, 1904; Jerry Ford, Jr. died Dec. 28, 1905. Mrs. Ford's name was Maggie (possible Margaret) after Ford's death she married William Chamberlin and they had a daughter Nina, who lives in Sacramento.
