Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Buddy Rogers was an actor and a jazz musician.
Photograph caption dated December 31, 1952 reads "Buddy Rogers and the onetime 'America's sweetheart' Mary Pickford, were among celebrities attending the premiere. They're husband and wife, you know." The event may have been the premiere of 'The Jazz Singer.'
