Description
The city as it was in the late nineteenth century. Many of the houses shown became part of the Pomona College campus. handwriting catptions around the border of the photograph identify the buildings. From left to right, the top margin reads: "Mrs. Burnell (later Kingman)," "A.D. Bissell house (now Darlington opposite Guildhall)," and "2 Houses on Guildhall Site." The bottom margin reads: "(319 Harvard) G.H. Duvall House now Bissell Residence" and "Fulkerson-Shaw House at SE cor. 3rd & Harvard on present site of College Bookstore." The left margin reads: "Barn of Burns-Holabird House on Yale below 5th." The right margin reads: "Phelps Hs."
