Description
Annotation translation: [On the rear of the card is a printed text:] "We have learned from experience that most non-christian peoples like singing. It is true that their singing is often very rough and not beautiful. The missionaries are concerned right from the early days of their work in an area to really train God's gift of singing among non-christian and christian school pupils and to put this singing to work in the servcie of the congregations made up of heathen-christians ["Heidenchristengemeinden"]. The success of this strategy makes us very happy. In one christian congregation in India the young men and women began 30 years ago to perform Haydn's "Creation" under the leadership of their missionary. Missionaries have also encouraged instrumental music, and you find brass bands formed by the young men in all the mission fields, whose accompaniment to the hymns in the church services and mission festivals contributes to christian education. In this way the Mission has done great things for the implantation of christian music in the heathen-christian congregations.
Note translation: I suspect this is a Leipzig Mission production. See QQ-30.124.0005. (PJ 06.2002).
