Description: Exterior view of Groundwork Coffee, located at 671 Rose Avenue in Venice. Formerly known as Gourmet Coffee Warehouse, Groundwork Coffee is one of the very first certified organic roasters in Southern California. Operating a coffeehouse in Venice is "different" says owner Richard Karno, who has been brewing coffee at this location since 1990. "There is a real mix of locals, professionals, tourists and artists." The building was built prior to World War I and was originally a horse stable.
