Description

Photograph caption dated August 5, 1949 reads, "Crape Myrtle such as the lovely specimen illustrated above make ideal small shade trees or large shrubs where colorful bloom are wanted during the summer months. They are especially suitable for the San Fernando Valley as they thrive where the summers are hot. Better bloom will result if they are severly [sic] pruned after each flowering season."
