"Former Los Angeles Orphanage residents Miss Jeanne Wheeler, center, and Mrs. Helen Smith, right, praise the orphanage food as 'as tasty in our day' during a visit to the institution in their campaign to unite former residents to aid the home's lagging building fund appeal. The Orphanage is seeking $750,000 to replace the present structure which is becomeing unsafe and must be abandoned. Orphanage children are Dolores Andre, left, and Sally Ann Gibson." -- typed note attached to verso, dated for release 13 December 1950. "John R. MacFaden -- TR 2355" -- typed at head of note.
