Description
This branch of the American Trust Company, located at 1501 Del Paso Blvd., is the focal point of this photograph, taken July 12, 1948. At that time, American Trust was the 17th largest bank in the country, possessing some $950,000,000. By the mid-1950s, the bank operated at 83 locations. It merged with Wells Fargo in March 1960. The North Sacramento branch’s opening was concurrent with the opening of a location at the northwest corner of Alhambra Boulevard and Broadway.
