Description
"Br. Tietzen mit einem Evangelisten auf einer Knüppelbrücke." ("Brother Tietzen and an evangelist on a bridge built of wooden truncheons."). Tietzen, followed by an African man, is crossing a bridge built of branches and small logs. The scene is surrounded by dense vegetation.
Cf. photo no. 10988 and 10990. -- Theodor Tietzen (1893-1973) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. Having married Hildegard Marie Lenz in 1921 and served in South Africa (West) from 1922 to 1927, he moved to East Africa, where he served in Mbozi till 1929 and in Utengule till 1939. In the 1950s he returned to South Africa. -- Kurt Küchler (1908-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. He served in Kyimbila from 1936 to 1939. In 1938 he married Marianne Geisler.
