Description
Photograph of Mission San Francisco de la Espano from the side, San Antonio, Texas, ca.1898. Rising at right is the bell tower, which contains only one bell (though there are spaces for three) and is topped by a cross. Large, brick archways can be seen along the side of the structure, and wooden doors are visible within two of the archways. Beside the mission are low trees devoid of foliage. In the extreme foreground at left, a large tree can be seen. This was the third mission in San Antonio.
