Description
Sacramento Municipal Airport's terminal was opened in 1955. Originally called the Sutterville Aerodrome, this airfield was first opened in 1930 and saw a period of military control during World War II. It was also the city's primary gateway for civilian air travel until the opening of the Sacramento International Airport in 1967. Since then, Sacramento Executive Airport has mostly been used for private flights. This postcard, ca. 1960, features an image captured by prominent Lassen County photographer Mirl H. Simmons.
