Photograph caption dated October 11, 1950 reads "Head of John A. Sutter Junior High, Howard Benedict, has had to face many problems since his school opened in February 1949, including obtaining temporary class rooms (sic) for an increase of more than 1000 in the student body, transportation to and from school and fighting the dust of unfinished grounds." The school is located at 7330 Winnetka Avenue, Winnetka.
