Photograph of an interior view of the laundry room of the Los Angeles County Jail, ca.1940-1949. What appear to be washing machines can be seen along the back wall and at right. Tables can be seen at left, while cloth bags filled with linens can be seen at center. A clock is visible on the wall in the left background, while two lightbulbs hang from the ceiling. A sign on a low wall in front of one of the machines reads, "put soiled clothing here". A chair can be seen at right. The prison was built in 1902.
