Photograph of a southward view of San Fernando Road at Tunnel Station Bridge after the construction of Foothill Boulevard, November 23, 1934. San Fernando Road runs from the foreground at left to the base of a line of hills in the distance at right. It is intersected by a road that runs from left to center. A small triangular median can be seen in the middle of the road at center. Several early automobiles can be seen on the various roads. A narrow bridge crosses a wide gap in the background at right. Left road goes to city of San Fernando. Right road goes to Bakersfield. Lower left road goes to Newhall. Highway 99 is beyond the railroad. Compares to CHS-32533, which shows the same view before the construction of Foothill Boulevard.
