Image of an eye-level street view of the columned, domed Merchant's Exchange building in New York City, designed by architect Isaiah Rogers, showing a bustling street scene with horse-drawn vehicles in the street and people walking around the building; the building's facade is topped by a relief frieze and statue with the engraving "Erected MDCCCXXXVIII."
Date supplied by cataloger based on printer history; John H. Bufford was located on Nassau Street from approximately 1836-1839. "I. Rogers Archt."--text, bottom left margin. "On Stone by Bufford."--text, bottom center margin. "Drawn by C.L. Warner."--text, bottom right margin. "New York Printed and Published at J.H. Bufford's Lithographic Establishment 136 Nassau St."--text, bottom center margin.
