Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated January 27, 1962 partially reads, "Booming birth rates in the Valley not only mean a rapidly increasing population, but a booming babysitting business for teenagers. Demands for capable young baby sitters are so numerous that they can't all be filled, according to placement offices in Valley schools. 'We get an average of 10 calls a week for baby sitters, but not many girls at Valley apply for such positions,' according to Mrs. Marian Van Meter, of the Valley College placement bureau in Van Nuys." Photograph caption reads, "Diapering Lisa is babysitting project for Lewis Solitske. The first step is to take away toys that may distract baby - or be used to whack babysitter, left. It can be quite a problem, as Lewis finds in school picture. Finally he gets down to brass tacks, er, pins and gets the diaper changed, as illustrated second from right. Now the job is finished, right, successfully, too. But, oh, no, not again."; See images #00130661 through #00130665 for all photos in this series.
