Photograph of a view of the San Pedro waterfront, Terminal Island and the inner harbor at the Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro, ca.1900. A general view looking northerly from what is now (1991) Sixth St. at Harbor Blvd., showing the San Pedro waterfront north from Berth 85. A long, single-story building is situated to the left of several railroad tracks run along the curvy beach. A railroad car is parked on the tracks at right. A few yards into the ocean is a man-made wharf with railroad tracks to receive and transport goods from ships. Further out is another man-made wharf or pier with a ship docked along its side. The Los Angeles Terminal Railway sign is visible across the channel. Houses and buildings are situated more inland in the distance to the left. The Clarence Hostel may be seen on the right skyline.
