Myron Powell moved to Claremont from San Diego in 1909 as a young boy. His mother operated a dry goods store, Powell's Department Store - 215 W. First Street, in the Claremont Village for many years. A long-time Claremont resident, Mr. Powell offers his impressions of early Claremont, his experiences as a boy, his memories of the people, business, and (especially) the early houses and residents of Claremont.
