View of the natural branch wood fence bordering the Sunset Trail along the edge of the bluffs in Palisades Park, with the beach, a pier and crane, tents, and automobiles in the background, in Santa Monica, California.
"The Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica Mountains and 'weekenders'"--text, handwritten in ink on verso. "The Palisades, Santa Monica, Cal."--text, captioned and "Stereo views of Southern California" embossed on the front of item. "Stereo views of Southern California by D.C. Allen, Sawtelle and Santa Monica"--text, label on verso, with "Santa Monica" crossed on and "2403 Perryville Ave., Calif." written in. Title transcribed from item; date devised by cataloger based on the absence of the Long Wharf Pier in the distance, which was dismantled in 1920, and photographer history; Darwin C. Allen does not appear in Los Angeles city directories until about 1921.
