Description
An interview with Lawrence Thome. The recording begins with an introduction by Stanley Reynolds. Mr. Thome discusses his work with Corona High School as Director of Physical Education and the various students he coached during his time there. He also talks about being elected to city council and becoming mayor. During his tenure as mayor, Corona experienced a great deal of growth. The Building Department issued a million dollars in building permits, the city acquired the Temescal Water Company, and they turned down the opportunity to annex La Sierra which was later annexed by Riverside. Mr. Thome briefly talks about the history of Rotary in Corona.
