Description
Photograph of a view of the Colorado River looking east from the north side of Bass Ferry, Grand Canyon, 1900-1930. The river is, for the most part, placid as it curves around the steep banks hemming it in on both sides, as they form a "V" in the distance. Erosion has clearly exposed the geological strata in the steep rocky canyon walls as they rise to the rim high above. Massive rock formations tower over the canyon at right. Some brush and a few large rocks are visible in the right foreground.
