Description
Photograph of a cemetery on top of a hill, Columbia, ca.1930. Two rectangular graves, one slightly larger than the other, stand in a plot of land at center. To either side stand graves shaped like arches. On the left there can be seen a fenced plot of land containing one grave marker. Although grass covers the ground the grave markers stand in, bushes and trees can be seen in the background on the right, while tall, thin Cypress trees stand in the background on the left. Photo file card reads "The cemetery on top of the hill which dates from the 1850's. On the rectangular slab in line with the Cypress tree is the following inscription: 'Jacob R. Geddis -- aged 28 years -- murdered on or about the 28th of June, 1861'".
