Description
"Dr N Beath, 1903." Dr Nina Beath in graduation dress holding diploma. Dr Beath was appointed to Swatow [Shantou] as a medical missionary with the English Presbyterian Mission in 1902. Illness prevented her from arriving until 1905. Despite constant ill-health she served twenty years in the mission field before being invalided home in 1925. She died shortly after her return to Britain, in October 1925.
