Photograph caption dated July 3, 1964 reads, "Firemen from all over Southern California were ready to mass here on the south slopes of Bee Canyon, northeast of Newhall, in an attempt to check the summer's first major fire. The blaze began yesterday when a marksman accidentally clipped a power line."
