Description
The unpublished rough proof of Shaw's short comedy in which William Shakespeare, intending to meet his lover Mary Fitton, a young lady of the royal court he refers to as the "Dark Lady", accidentally encounters Queen Elizabeth I and attempts to persuade her to create a national theatre. Handwritten marginalia and annotations, possibly by Shaw, included.
