Jacob Haas (-1889) was a businessman who helped found the grocery house of Hellman Haas & Co. in Los Angeles; his brother Abraham Haas (1847-1921) joined the company in December 1873. A copy of this image in the C.C. Pierce Collection at the Huntington Library identifies the property as being on Main Street.
