3 images. Robbery attempt -- bandit shot, 30 December 1958. Officer Max Herman Officer C.A. Stromwall Chester W. Osborne (did shooting) Officer Eddie Benson James Vaughn (wounded bandit). Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Olmo. Date: 1958-12-30. Reporter: Donoghue. Assignment: Shoots bandit. 71/72/73/74/75: TV repair man quick on trigger shoots fleeing bandit in front of West 6th street shop. At left in rear holding gun -- Det. Sgt. Max Herman at right rear, Chester W. Osborne, TV man foreground, Det. Sgt. C.A. Stromwall. Both officers are with Robbery Detail. Gun is long barreled .38 revolver bought by ex-Navy man Osborne a year ago for use against bandits. 76/77/78: Det. Eddie Benson questions wounded bandit James Vaughn in emergency ward of Central Receiving Hospital after foiled attempt to holdup West 6th street TV repair shop".
