The Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture is a two-year community college in Woodland Hills, California. It opened in September 1947, with 70 students and 18 faculty members and is part of the Los Angeles Community College District. The school's initial focus was crop cultivation and animal husbandry, and still retains a large swatch of open fields for hands-on working farm training. In 1956 the school was renamed Los Angeles Pierce College.
Photograph caption dated October 29, 1964 reads, "Royalty on tour - Pierce College Homecoming Queen Jimmie Curry, second from left, and part of her court of princesses, from left, Kathy Whittemore, Mary Ann Meddock and Margie Ward, listen as Valley Times publisher Ben Reddick explains new wire procedure in the Valley Times city room, during a tour they took yesterday."
