In September 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Parker took a party of friends and relatives for a cruise of the Santa Barbara Islands on the two-masted power steamer, Avalon, under the command of Captain J. E. Matthewson. Cruise left from Avalon. Aboard the ship was: Misses Kamp, Glessman, Roher, Phalen, Nelson, Ferner, Lyons, Laughlin, Brennen, Hodgson; Mmes. West and Parker; and, Messrs. Parker, Tibbitts, Ringsing, Kassar, Gray, Allen, Farnsworth, Tobin, Reyes, Ormsby, Croner and Mattewson.
